The Youth Leaders for Change Program is a nine-month leadership development experience for high school juniors and seniors across North Carolina. The program equips youth ages 16–18 with the skills, confidence, and experience to become advocates and community leaders. Participants receive training in advocacy, civic engagement, public speaking, financial literacy, wellness, and leadership. Each student is paired with a WomenNC Board member who co-chairs one of four committees—Fundraising, Programming, Marketing & Outreach, or Alumni Relations—for hands-on mentorship and real-world nonprofit experience.

Youth Leaders also take visible roles in WomenNC events and community forums, contributing their perspectives to statewide conversations on gender equity and justice. At the end of the program, the top four students are selected to attend the National Young Feminist Leadership Conference in Washington, D.C., where they build national connections and expand their advocacy skills.
